  1. This information is above all directed to long-standing users of
  2. garbo.uwasa.fi, preferably with an upload record, or some other
  3. background of mutually useful communication with garbo moderators.

  5. Tue 4-Feb-92: If you are interested in having your email address
  6. added to the garbo-infolist upload accouncement, download
  7. statistics, etc news list you are welcome to email me an
  8. "application".  Your application must include the following line
  9.   YourFirstName YourLastName = youruserid@machine.domain.country
  10. eg mine would be
  11.   Timo Salmi = ts@chyde.uwasa.fi 
  12. Be very careful to get this information right.  It is absolutely
  13. essential.  Unless we know each other well from earlier contacts on
  14. the net, you should also clearly state your status, affiliation, and
  15. reasons for wanting to be on this list, since I cannot make this a
  16. completely open offer.  Eg I would state
  17.   Professor of Accounting and Business Finance
  18.   School of Business Studies, University of Vaasa, Finland
  19.   I want to help in propagation of shareware and PD MsDos programs
  20.   and in order to do that I need information of the new uploads to
  21.   your anonymous ftp archives.  I would get selected files from your
  22.   list, and put them up for general download on my system.
  23.   (Then eg some information about my computer usage background,
  24.    etc).

  26. Mon 24-Jun-91: Note that not all our new files are announced on
  27. garbo-infolist (nor the news) but only a select set of interesting
  28. files.  Thus you might also be interested in occasionally looking
  29. at the raw list /pc/_files.in at your own pace.
